Day 6: Masada – Herod the Great’s Palace

A view of the ancient “snake path” (winding) that goes to the top of Masada–the site of Herod the Great’s palace in the Judaean desert.  Masada has a rich and tragic history.  From the top you can see the Dead Sea which is the lowest point of land on earth.

Steps–still ascending to reach the top of Masada (our group took the cable car! Whew!)
