Coffee Hour Reflection, August 30, 2020

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I wanted to share with you what we discussed on August 30th during our Zoom Coffee Hour following our Sunday service.

We talked about Father Jay’s encouraging sermon and how our particular and unique perspective can determine how we perceive life.

We also discussed the Hymn, “I, the Lord of Sea and Sky” and how it was one of our favorites with the notion of following God’s lead. And I also read two poems that we discussed. I hope that you find the words from the poems encouraging and enlightening.

May God walk with you this day and always.

Peace and love,
Deacon Lauren

Peace Prayer by Michael R. Burch for Jim Dunlap

Be calm. Be still. Be silent, content.
Be one with the buffalo cropping the grass to a safer height.
Seek the composure of the great depths, barely moved by exterior storms.
Lift your face to the dawning light; feel how it warms.
And be calm. Be still. Be silent, content.

Apache Blessing

May the sun
bring you energy by day.
May the moon
restore you by night
May the rain
wash away the worries
May the breeze
blow new strength into your being
May you walk
gently through the world
and know its beauty all the days of your life.
