Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We had a thought-provoking Zoom Coffee Hour discussion following our Sunday Service on January 24th. We discussed Father Eric’s sermon regarding pushing to a greater vision for our Nation through combining poetry, politics and religion.
I then read from Mark’s Gospel, Chapter 1:14-20 that we had heard earlier with Jesus gathering his first disciples who were fishermen. I asked the question to those present, how can we fish for people out in the world? And I would like to ask you the same question. How can we spread God’s love out in the world?
I closed with the following quote from Dallas Willard:
Solitude well practiced will break the power of busyness
haste, isolation, and loneliness. You will see that the world
is not on your shoulders after all. You will find yourself,
and God will find you in new ways.
Peace and love,
Deacon Lauren
