Coffee Hour Reflection, February 7, 2021

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We had a good conversation at our Zoom Coffee Hour on Sunday, February 7th following our Sunday Service. It was Day School Sunday and Chaplain Amber was the preacher.

We actively discussed Chaplain Amber’s sermon about casting out the demons of racism. We also talked about the talents of the 8thGrade students who give a chapel talk at the school’s Chapel services. Please use the link below to hear 8th Grade student, Matthew’s reflection on friendship.

I also shared a quote from Presiding Bishop Michael Curry’s book, The Way to Love:

“That love is truly ecumenical, truly universal. That love knows no borders, no limitations, no divisions or differences of race, class, caste, nationality, ethnic origin, political affiliation, or religious conviction. That love can break down every barrier that blocks the way to the realization of God’s dream of a beloved community.”

Peace and love,
Deacon Lauren
