Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is St. Matthew’s adult choir, and participates each week in the 10:15 am service. All persons ages 15 and up are welcome to join the choir. The group rehearses Thursday nights from 7:30-9:30 pm. The choir prepares anthems, generally selected from the sacred classical repertoire, for presentation during offertory and communion as well as a few concerts throughout the year. Some music experience is preferred, but not strictly required. A casual audition with the music director is requested. Rehearsals are Thursdays, 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm in the Choir Room.
Bell Choir
St. Matthew’s has a five octave handbell set, and we always welcome new players to help us use as much of the set as possible. The bell choir is open to ages 11 and up.  No music experience is necessary to join; if you can ring a bell, you can participate! In fact, playing handbells is a great, low pressure way to learn the basics of reading music. The bell choir plays for 10:15 am services on special occasions, generally about 5 times per year. Rehearsals are held Sundays from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm in the Choir Room.
Children’s Choir & Youth Choir
Calling all singing angels to the St. Matthew’s Children’s Choir & Youth Choir! The two St. Matthew’s youth music groups offer allow children to give their gifts of talent and time back to the church, while learning about the basics of sight singing, musicianship, Episcopalian service music, and vocal technique. Performances for both groups are on Celebrate Sunday services at 10:15 am, once a month and the Spring Tea Sing-Along.
Children’s Choir Rehearsals: Thursdays, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm (K-4th grade) in the Music Room of St. Matthew’s Hall.
Youth Choir Rehearsals: Sundays, 11:40 am – 12:10 pm (5-12th grade) in the Music Room of St. Matthew’s Hall.
