Changes in Services Starting March 2020
With the current local and state government orders to shelter-in-place, the Episcopal Church of St. Matthew has created online opportunities for our community to stay connected.
There is one online-only service on Sundays at 10:00 am PT. You can access the live Sunday service on our Facebook page. The video will be posted on this website after the live videoe. We will also have a weekly Children’s Chapel Storytime video available by Saturday on our Facebook page and our website.
Our various worship services offer the breadth and depth that the Episcopal Church has to offer.
8:00 am Holy Eucharist, Rite I: Service of Holy Eucharist, using the traditional language of The Book of Common Prayer, accompanied by organ and soloist. A time of fellowship and refreshments follows in Julie Beylard Hall, located behind the church.
10:15 am Holy Eucharist, Rite II: A festive celebration of Holy Eucharist, using the more contemporary language of The Book of Common Prayer, accompanied by organ and the St. Matthew’s Chancel Choir. Nursery care is provided from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at no cost, by screened and “Safe Church Trained” care providers in the day school library.
- Services in our main sanctuary and chapel are handicap accessible.
- Audio Enhancement Devices can be located in the back of the church, by the parking lot door.
- We offer gluten-free wafers. Please let an usher know so they can communicate with the clergy, or simply tell the clergy at the time of reception.
- Communion is offered in the side chapel (no steps) and the main altar (steps). Communion can also be brought to your seat, if accessibility is a concern, simply inform an usher upon your arrival.
