Community Sustaining Gifts
All donations to the Episcopal Church of Saint Matthew support our growing, vibrant, multigenerational parish, allowing us to nourish the spiritual growth for all who seek and participate in our community of faith. Since 1865 our parish has been a beacon at the heart of the greater San Mateo community.
Ways to Contribute
Complete a yearly pledge
Pledging is the means by which one indicates the amount of income or assets that one intends to contribute to the parish in the upcoming year. Pledging allows our parish to develop a budge that is in line with expected revenues. At St. Matthew’s during our Fall Stewardship campaign, we ask every household to consider making a yearly pledge, no matter what size. Pledges may be fulfilled as convenient over the course of the calendar year.
Sunday Collection
St. Matthew’s benefits from any money received and contributions offered through the Sunday collection plates is a traditional way to donate. If you would like and end of the year receipt for your plate contributions please make sure you write a check of contribute cash in a clearly marked envelope.
Donate Online
Contributions can be made online at any time—either to fulfill a pledge or to make a one time contribution. Under the Giving pull-down menu on our homepage—select Donate Now to make your gift.
Bequests and Estate Planning
Some households prefer to support St. Matthew’s via a one time bequest or through a variety of estate gifting vehicle, many of which provide significant tax advantages. The parish office will be able to connect individuals with more information.
