The Thrift Shop is open ten months of the year, mid-August through mid-June, nine hours per week: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. In addition, the Shop sells small, higher value items on eBay and hosts an annual fundraising Spring Tea and Fashion Show as well as our own version of Antiques Road Show.
Charities Receiving Outreach Proceeds
A local, independent nonprofit organization serving patients and families in the San Mateo and Santa Clara County area with quality, compassionate, end-of-life care and education.
Dedicated to helping homeless families and individuals across Silicon Valley and Peninsula rapidly return to permanent housing and self-sufficiency.
Works with partners worldwide to alleviate hunger, create economic opportunities, respond to disasters, promote health and strengthen communities.
The Thrift Shop has made its home in the basement of St. Matthew’s since 1949 and resells donated items at a very low price. Our operation provides the principle source of income for the League for Service, which is disbursed to local, regional and national charities. The shop is staffed entirely by volunteers, most of whom are also parishioners. We welcome donations of gently used clothing, jewelry, small furniture items, household goods and children’s toys.
If you would like to volunteer at the shop or have questions about donating items, please contact Diana Dykes, Thrift Shop Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
