Members of the St. Matthew’s Book group gathered via Zoom on July 15th, to discuss the books we have been reading individually in recent months. We also chose the next book that we will read together and discuss.
We selected Between the World and Me, by Ta-Nehisi Coates. Written as a letter to his teen-aged son, Coates’ book “confronts the notion of race in America and how it has shaped American history…thoughtfully exploring personal and historical events” [School Library Journal].
We will meet via Zoom on Wednesday evening, August 26, at 7:00 pm to discuss Between the World and Me. New members are welcome to join the conversation about this important book. To be added to the Book Group’s email list, please contact the church office.
